Karmaweer Late Shri Dadasaheb Kannamwar
Founder President V.U.S. (1900-1963), Ex. Chief Minister of Maharashtra & Founder President of Village Uplift Society, Nagpur.
The Village Uplift Society was established with an intention to open Schools & Hostels for the poor, Adivasi needy boys & girls. Late M.S. Kannamwar
who was a freedom fighter and did lot of work for the poor and the down trodden, he was appointed Health minister in the former Madhya Pradesh, later on he
became as PWD Minister and then the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Due to the efforts of Late Kannamwarji , the 3 acres of Govt. land of Rajbhawan Nagpur was
allotted to the society where we are presently running Annasaheb Gundewar College, Tidke Vidyalaya & Jr. College, Jawahar Convent & School, apart from these institutions,
the main office of the society is also located in the same premises. Dadasaheb Kannamwarji died on 24.12.1963.
Loknete Late Shri Annasaheb Gundewar
Leader of Masses, Founder Secretary of Village Uplift Society, Nagpur Annasaheb Gundewar in whose name this college is dedicated was born in the year 1918 at Hinganghat.
Though born in extreme poverty he never allowed poverty to overtake his passion, devotion and commitment for social services. He was associated with Bharat Sewak Samaj and was
elected as its State Convener. The founder of Kannamwargram, a village development project run by the Village Uplift Society, he has been remarkable in his notable contributions,
efforts and initiatives for the development of this institution and society.
